How to Make 1,000 mg CBD Oil from 88% Broad Spectrum CBD Distillate (30 mL)

Make your own CBD oil (tincture) at home in about 15 minutes. This simple DIY recipe mixes 1.15 g of 88% broad spectrum CBD distillate into MCT oil to make a 30 mL bottle with about 1,010 mg of CBD — roughly 33.7 mg per mL.

What you need

1.15 g of 88% broad spectrum CBD distillate (about 1,010 mg CBD)
About 30 mL of carrier oil — MCT oil is best (thin, flavourless, absorbs well and keeps for about a year). Any edible oil works: olive, hemp seed, avocado or sunflower.
A 30 mL amber glass dropper bottle and a small funnel
A kitchen scale that reads to 0.01 g
A bowl of hot tap water (about 50–60 °C / 120–140 °F)

Steps: making a 30 mL CBD oil

Warm the jar in a sealed zip-top bag in the bowl of hot tap water for 5–10 minutes, until the 88% broad spectrum CBD distillate is soft and flows.
Set the empty bottle on the scale, tare it to zero and add 1.15 g of 88% broad spectrum CBD distillate (with the funnel or a small spoon).
Top up with MCT oil to the 30 mL mark, leaving a little room at the neck.
Cap tightly and warm the bottle in the hot water for another 5 minutes — never microwave, boil or use direct heat.
Shake well for 1–2 minutes until the oil is an even colour with no streaks or blobs at the bottom.
Let it cool, then label the bottle with the strength (1,010 mg · 33.7 mg/mL) and today's date.
