CBD Isolate Isn’t Just For Tinctures

Incorporating CBD into your lifestyle doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, it can be integrated into other everyday actions to offer therapeutic effects without adjusting your routine.

Cooking with CBD isolate is an easy way to add cannabidiol to your daily life. You’ll get all the benefits of the compound while getting to enjoy a homecooked meal.

Making food with isolate is an ideal way to consume CBD that can go a long way.  You’ll be making your own CBD-infused oil to add to basically any dish, giving you endless options for personal meals or to impress your friends with.

Getting to know the double boiling method

When cooking with CBD isolate, you’ll want to start with the double boiling method to infuse your CBD with a carrier oil. The double boiling method is a way to control the heat because you don’t want the CBD getting exposed to high temperatures.

The method is super easy. You just need two pots: a large one and a small one that can fit inside of the bigger one. Infusing the CBD into oil is a crucial step to allow your body to absorb the compound since it is not fat-soluble.

Fill the large pot about a quarter of the way with water and place the smaller pot inside, ensuring that the bottom of the small pot does not touch the water. If it does, you’ll need a different pot or less water. The water should never touch the bottom of the smaller pot.

Now bring the water to a simmer and add your carrier oil and CBD isolate to the small pot. Use MCT or coconut oil for the best results. For every gram of CBD you add, you’ll need to add an additional 1-2 teaspoons of oil.

Stir this mixture frequently for about 10 minutes and all of the CBD should dissolve into the oil. And there you have it. Your CBD isolate is now ready to cook with.

CBD cooking inspiration

Before you start throwing CBD into every recipe, keep in mind that high temperatures will render the CBD useless. If you threw CBD oil into a lasagna you cooked at high temperature for nearly an hour, you can bet you’ve cooked the potency out of the CBD.

When cooking with CBD isolate, making sauces, dips, or other items to add to the cooked meal is the way to go. You don’t want to make something that will have to sit in the oven at high temperatures for a long time.

  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 chopped jalapeno
  • 1 tsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp CBD oil

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Add the chopped tomatoes and jalapeno to a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Roast for 40 minutes.
  2. Drizzle the CBD oil over the roasted tomatoes and jalapenos after removing from the oven.
  3. Mix all ingredients together once cooled off
  4. Spice to taste and enjoy

Simple CBD vinaigrette for salads

  • ½ cup CBD-infused olive oil (do all the same steps for MCT or coconut-infused CBD oil)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp sugar or honey
  • Sea salt to taste

Whisk all the ingredients together and you’ve got a simple and delicious salad dressing that can be added to many dishes.

Final thoughts on cooking with CBD isolate

Cooking with CBD isolate is easy, but you’ll have to prepare it properly using the double boiling method. If you don’t do that step, you’ll end up with CBD that can’t be absorbed by your body, rendering it useless.

Once you’ve infused the oil with CBD, it’s important to keep the temperature from getting too high. The best way to serve up CBD is to make sauces and dressings that can be added to already cooked dishes without burning the CBD.

The options are endless when it comes to cooking with CBD isolate. You can turn a regular meal into a therapeutic dish with just a few easy steps.
